Analysis of Digital Consumerism Based on Cultural, Economic, and Social Aspects in the Islamic Economic Framework
Abstract
Background: Male participation in contraceptive use remains low, despite the important role of men in the success of family planning programs. This study aims to analyze factors associated with male participation in contraceptive use at the Pendopo Inpatient Health Center, Empat Lawang Regency.
Method: This was an observational analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. A total of 84 men of reproductive age were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square test.
Result: The results showed that 89.3% of men did not use contraception, 58.3% had poor knowledge, 51.2% received support from their wives, and 65.5% were influenced by cultural factors. Statistical tests revealed significant associations between knowledge (p=0.003), wife’s support (p=0.030), and culture (p=0.007) with male participation in contraceptive use.
Conclusion: Knowledge, wife’s support, and culture are significantly associated with male participation in contraceptive use. It is necessary to improve education and counseling on male contraception through various media to enhance male involvement in family planning.
