Abstract

There are two aspects to counseling: the process aspect and the face-to-face aspect. The process aspect indicates changes in the client, while the face-to-face aspect indicates a face-to-face meeting between the counselor and the client, as well as an interview regarding the client's problems. Students' learning difficulties at school can vary, both in terms of receiving lessons, absorbing lessons, or both. Every student, in principle, has the right to achieve satisfactory learning achievements. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation, which aims to obtain more complete and in-depth data, so that the research objectives can be achieved. The results of the study revealed that children's learning difficulties are caused by cognitive delays and parents are usually busy, resulting in insufficient guidance at home. My efforts as a teacher in providing guidance and counseling to overcome learning difficulties in fifth-grade students include providing direct guidance to children who have learning difficulties, where the child is given advice or motivation so that the child with learning difficulties can be encouraged to learn.
